As the curtain falls on the popular television show Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya Shiv Shakti, fans and cast alike are taking a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has unfolded over more than 400 episodes. For actor Sandeep Sachdev, who portrayed the complex and compelling character of Kamalnath, this experience has been nothing short of transformative.
Sachdev describes his time on the show as a “wonderful journey,” marked by significant milestones and deep connections. “We’ve crossed more than 400 episodes, and crossing more than 400 episodes in today’s time in television is a sign of a successful show,” he shares. Despite his wish for the show to have run longer, Sachdev acknowledges that every show has its natural course. He adds, “And as an actor, and more importantly, as an individual who met such great actors and got to perform with so many of them, it is just such a great blessing for me with just my second television show. I just straightaway cut back to my first day of shooting, which was a full family scene, and today, when our show is ending, I’m going to be missing that family big time.”
Working with Prateek Sharma and Studio LSD has been another highlight of Sachdev’s journey. “My experience of working with Prateek sir and Studio LSD has just been fantastic,” he says. The professionalism and attention to detail provided by Studio LSD, from ensuring every actor’s comfort to the smooth operation of production, have left a lasting impression on Sachdev. He eagerly anticipates future opportunities to collaborate with Prateek and Parth Shah, hoping to bring more characters to life with them. “Every actor has been so appreciative of the professional approach that LSD has had towards its actors. I’m so looking forward to LSD does consider me for, you know more characters in their ongoing shows,” he notes.
Reflecting on his favorite scenes from the show, Sachdev highlights two moments that stand out. One is a high-stakes scene where Kamalnath threatens to set himself on fire unless his family helps Mandira. “I had just gotten back to the set after a two-week break, and I straightaway dived into the scene. It was my favorite scene because I received a lot of appreciation for it from all my co-actors right then and there while I was performing,” he recalls. The immediate and heartfelt appreciation from his co-actors made this scene particularly memorable. “The second scene, which has actually been Kamalnath’s ‘love moment,’ is when he expresses his love by taking roses for Mandira in the Valentine’s special episode. So yes, these two scenes are something that have been my favorites,” he adds.
When asked about his favorite co-star, Sachdev finds it difficult to single out just one, given the wealth of talent he had the pleasure of working alongside. From seasoned veterans like Meenakshi ji and Sanjay ji to emerging stars like Reva and Aditi, each actor contributed uniquely to his learning experience. “If I had to pinpoint a favorite co-star, I would say it would be Gaurav, who plays my son on the show,” he shares. He fondly remembers the camaraderie they shared in “Room Number 10,” which was a hub of joy and bonding on set. “We actually had a room called Room Number 10, which was like a party room. That’s where everybody would meet, have lunch, gossip, chit-chat, have snacks, and just enjoy a light atmosphere. That really created great magic, which translated on screen in a lot of scenes.”
As for what’s next, Sachdev is keeping his options open. After catching up on some much-needed rest post-show, he has reached out to colleagues across various platforms, including film, OTT, and television. “The kind of roles that I’m looking for isn’t something I’ve specifically narrowed down,” he reveals. “I’m open to playing characters that are challenging and help me showcase more of my craft as an actor.” With the growing content landscape on OTT platforms and the dynamic world of television, Sachdev is eager to see what opportunities arise next.
