Kunal Verma on Republic Day: A Celebration of Pride and Nostalgia

Kunal Verma, currently captivating audiences as Vihaan in Jhanak, opens up about his fond memories and sentiments surrounding Republic Day. For the actor, this significant day is a time to honor the Constitution and reflect on the pride of being Indian.

“Republic Day, of course, is about celebrating our Constitution. Growing up in South Bombay, I have vivid memories of heading to Marine Lines. There used to be air shows and parades, and it was such a joyous occasion. Seeing participants from across the world coming together was truly amazing. It always felt like a moment of pride for our country,” Kunal shares.

Recollecting his school days, Kunal fondly remembers the festive spirit that surrounded January 26. “In school, Republic Day meant a holiday, but it was more than just that. The day would begin with flag hoisting ceremonies, and later, it was all about spending time with friends. I also recall playing cricket and simply enjoying the moment. It was a day filled with celebration and laughter,” he adds with a smile.

Interestingly, Kunal admits to sometimes mixing up Republic Day with Independence Day. “You know, I often find myself confused between August 15 and January 26! But both days hold a special place in my heart. They’re a reminder of the unity, sacrifice, and values that define us as a nation.”

As someone who values traditions and community, Kunal believes Republic Day is not just a day off but an opportunity to revisit the essence of being Indian. “It’s not just about remembering the past; it’s about embracing the present and working towards a better future. Celebrating the spirit of the day is what matters,” he reflects.

With his role in Jhanak earning him accolades, Kunal Verma continues to inspire both on and off screen, reminding everyone of the importance of pride and unity that Republic Day represents.
