“When I’m not shooting or busy with work in Mumbai, I try to find time to celebrate the festival. I visit someone’s place, head to the terrace, fly kites, and soak in the electrifying atmosphere. Surat in Gujarat, for instance, is known for its vibrant kite-flying celebrations, and the experience there is unmatched,” he added.
As for his plan this year, he said, “I might be shooting, but if I get a break, I’ll definitely make the most of it by flying kites and enjoying the festive vibe.”
The Makar Sankranti festival is also famous for kite flying, and though Dushyant confessed that he has never actively participated in kite flying competitions, he added, “I did visit the government-sponsored kite flying competition in Ahmedabad once. It’s a worldwide event, and I’d highly recommend everyone experience it at least once.”
Not much of a foodie, he enjoys the mixed seasonal vegetable dish called Undhiyun, along with tilgud and other traditional treats during this time.
Any wish that you have during the festival? “There are no special customs performed in our home; it’s all about fun and enjoying the festive spirit with a smile,” Dushyant ended.
