I plan to do it once I have my own house in Mumbai: Sherleen Dutt on bringing Ganpati home

Sherleen Dutt, who has been part of shows like AFL (Anything For Love), KINK: Kiss Ishq N Konnection, Honey Trap Squad, and Koi Jaye Toh Le Aaye, to name a few, says it feels like the world changes when Bappa arrives. She said, “It’s a bigger festival than Diwali in Mumbai. Not just here, but all over India. During Diwali, people go back to their hometowns, but for Ganpati, they stay here just to be a part of the celebrations.”

She has been in Mumbai for several years now and said, “I’ve thought about bringing Ganpati home, but I plan to do it once I have my own house in Mumbai.”

She shared that she feels blessed to have experienced the grandeur of the Ganpati festival and added, “The Ganpati festival is just over; all I can say is Ganpati Bappa Morea Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa. I have noticed a lot of pollution is caused by some people with crackers bursting. Already, global warming is an issue. Everyone should behave responsibly towards the environment.”

Sherleen also said that she is a devotee of Lord Ganesha and remembers him before starting anything good. “I feel that when he arrives, everything starts falling into place, and during the days he stays, there’s a special connection. This might be why I haven’t brought him home yet—because I know I’d get so attached that I wouldn’t want him to leave,” she said.

“The longer he stays, the stronger the attachment becomes. As for what I wish from Bappa, they say he’s the ‘Vighna Harta’. I just hope he takes away all the obstacles in my life. I also wish for balance in my personal and professional life, for growth, success, and prosperity, and that any negativity stays far away from me,” she ended.
