On the occasion of International Friendship Day, which will be celebrated on August 4, Sherleen Dutt, who will soon be seen in Koi Jaaye Toh Le Aaye, said, “Friendship is incredibly significant in my life. It provides a sense of belonging, support, and understanding that is irreplaceable.”
“Friends are the family we choose, and they play a crucial role in our emotional well-being and personal growth. Having a strong support system of friends can make life’s challenges more manageable and its joys even greater,” she added.
Her best friend is Manish Kachru, and they have been friends since childhood. “Our friendship is so close that people often think we’re in a relationship. Because of this, no boy hits on me since they assume I’m with him. In the early days, whenever I went to Jammu, people would think Manish was my boyfriend, and we had to explain to everyone that we were only good friends,” she said.
“What makes our friendship special is the deep understanding and trust we share. Our families are also friends with each other, which adds another layer of connection and support. Manish is a makeup artist. We have fights, but they last for a very short time. We support each other unconditionally and have been through so much together, which has only strengthened our bond,” she added.
She believes that to build a successful friendship, people should always be honest and open with their friends. “Communication is the foundation of any strong relationship, and being able to talk about anything without fear of judgment is crucial. Respect each other’s differences and support one another through thick and thin,” she said.
“True friendship means being there for each other, whether it’s during happy times or challenging moments. Maintaining purity in friendship means being genuine, kind, and selfless. Avoid letting misunderstandings, jealousy, or ego affect the bond. These elements have been key in my friendship with Manish, and I believe they are essential for any lasting and meaningful friendship,” Sherleen added.
